Neustar Localeze, along with 15miles and comScore, recently released the results of the Sixth Annual Local Search Survey. This year’s survey proves that the search industry is moving at a rapid pace and changing the way businesses drive customer traffic and find new revenue streams. People are no longer looking up a local pizzeria or boutique from one single platform. For example, data found that more than half of all mobile users stated search as the number one function on their mobile device. More specifically, application-based local search nearly doubled in just the past two years, significantly outpacing the SMS and browser markets. Consumers start searches on their desktop and continue searching on mobile devices applications while on-the-go. For businesses to be successful, they must ensure all of their listings are consistent across the board. The full press release with additional findings can be found here.
